Renee Parent, LMT sought chiropractic care for a lower back injury in her early 20's. Along with her spinal care, Renee was treated with electronic muscle stimulation to “massage” her problem areas. Although this felt good on one level, she felt there was a key element missing. Soon after this experience, she received an "Open House" invitation being held at the Polarity Realization Institute (now Spa Tech) in Ipswich, MA. As if by fate, Renee’s study into holistic massage began. As she began learning this unique form of energy based massage, she became increasingly aware of the importance of human touch in the healing process. Through her studies and personal experience, she confirmed what she had known intuitively, that machines could never replace what can be gained through human interaction. Upon graduating, she was asked by the school to stay and assist others reach their goals. By assisting in the numerous massage and polarity classes offered, Renee became well versed not only in technique, but in the holistic philosophy of “body, mind and spirit” being intricately connected.
In 1998, she opened her private practice as Utopia Massage located at 24 School St, in Amesbury, her hometown,
and began offering comprehensive individual sessions. Renee’s sessions are tailored to meet her clients needs.
Along with holistic massage, she often integrates: deep-tissue sports massage; myofascial release; range of motion; hand/foot reflexology; aroma and color therapy; polarity and guided imagery. She feels that through human touch, healing can occur on every level of being. Massage treats not only on the physical level, but on the mental, emotional and spiritual levels as well. It is Renee’s professional mission to assist each client by providing a safe healing environment, allowing them to move with greater ease on their life journey.
Renee has been with Dr. Eric Cutting since 1994.
Dr. Eric Cutting has been providing his unique blend of comprehensive health care in the Amesbury area for more than twenty years. Patients receive the benefits of his personal enhancement to the standard chiropractic care available in most practices. Following a severe skiing accident in his twenties, and seeking a natural approach to restoring his body's function, he sought the help of a Shri Lankan doctor who had helped a close friend with a similar trauma. This New York physician specialized in a form of Ayurvedic deep tissue work, combined with manual manipulation, through which Eric was able to resume his passion for competitive skiing.
Amazed at his recovery through this non-invasive safe technique, Eric moved to New York and began his studies of this Eastern healing art. After several years of honing his skills, and assisting others to restore healthy function to their body, Eric moved to California, earning his Chiropractic degree, Cum Laude, in 1983 from Cleveland Chiropractic College. Opening the doors to his Amesbury private practice in 1985, our community continues to benefit from his unique approach of integrated "hands-on " therapies for health and restoration. From your first visit as a New Patient, through all phases of your functional health care, Dr. Cutting provides you with deep tissue massage, chiropractic manipulation (manual and activator), as well as Neuro-Muscular Rehabilitation upon each visit.
A philosophy close to his heart is..."the more you learn to help yourself, the healthier you'll feel, and the less you'll need me to help you". He believes it is vitally important to instruct every person he works with (whether his patient,
a student in his class, or a fellow athlete) to develop their own self-care routine for home use. As a healthy, and successful, competitive athlete in his late 50's, Dr. Cutting enjoys sharing his personal knowledge to raise awareness in his community of the self-help care options available. He does this through his monthly public classes at
The Amesbury Health Center, free of charge, on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.
